Highland Middle School PTSA is excited to be participating in Reflections 2019-2020. We're calling for all Highland artists at every level to participate. Reflections is a National PTA arts recognition program that helps students explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence, and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful not only in school, but in life. |
While the primary focus of Reflections is a celebration of creativity through positive recognition, finalists from local PTAs will move on to their council PTA, then finalists from councils will move on to the state round. Washington State PTA finalists who receive an “Outstanding Interpretation” award will advance to the National PTA round. After-school art sessions are available November 5th and 12th for students submitting art projects Highland PTSA will be hosting and providing supplies to students who would like to submit artwork to the Reflections cultural arts program. Students can join art teacher, Mr. Peterson, in Room 301 from 3:30-4:30pm on November 5th and November 12th.
Artwork and entry forms are due to Highland Middle School main office by 2:30pm on November 15, 2019. For questions, contact the Highland PTSA Reflections program chairperson at hms-ptsa@live.com.

Congratulations! Three students' artwork going forward for district level review We're excited to have received 8 submissions to the Relfections cultural arts program. Given that 9 submisions is the middle school average, we're proud of the number of Highland students who shared their talent and creativity! Congratulations to three students, Tomas Dagum, Megan Lisk, and Michelle Mostov, who will have their artwork move foward to district level review. Thank you to all of the students who participated, the Highland teachers and staff, and our volunteer judges.
