The Highland Auction is Friday December, 2nd. All of the money raised by the auction directly benefits the Highland students. To support the auction, each 1st period class has chosen a theme and is putting together an Auction Basket. You can find your child’s first period teacher on the list below with basket themes. Most basket items can be purchased at our local grocery stores for a nominal cost. The basket donations need to be turned in to 1st period teachers by this Friday, November 18th. If each student is able to bring in a small item for donation, the baskets should fill up quickly. Students call also make cash donations to their 1st period teacher to make a bigger purchase for the class. We understand that not all families can donate items for the basket. We do have a letter formatted that students could fill in and present to a local business asking for auction donation items.

Corporate Matching Gift Programs

Highland is grateful to receive donations made from corporate matching gift programs. If you are unsure whether your employer sponsors a corporate matching gift program you can inquire within your human resources department. Please note the following details when donating or requesting a matching gift:

If an online tool is available through your corporate matching gift program it is the most efficient way to donate, as well as request a matching gift. While donations made directly online using a credit card do incur a small fee from the credit agency it is the quickest and easiest way for the organization you are giving to to receive your contribution and matching gift.  If you choose to give your donation directly to PTSA you can often either go online to initiate the matching gift request or complete a matching gift request form.

Highland's EIN number is:  91-6179677 and the address is 15027 NE Bel-Red Road, Bellevue, WA  98007.

Note for Microsoft parents - To get time matching for your volunteer hours follow these steps:

1. Go to http://give/givetime/Pages/GiveTime_TimeMatching.aspx (using a computer logged to Corp network)
2. Click the Volunteer Connection System button (it’s green, on the right side of the screen). This will send you to https://microsoft.cybergrants.com/microsoft/volunteer.
3. The first time you use it you must request a password for your MS alias. They will send you the password by e-mail to your corporate e-mail account.
4. Once you have your password (it might take a few minutes), use your alias and password to log on.
5. After you log on, click Record volunteer hours on the left navigation menu. You can search for "Bennett Elementary Parent Teacher Association", or simply search for Bennett and select the appropriate entry from the list. Click Log Hours and enter the start and end dates of your volunteer activity, and the total number of hours volunteered.

6. At the end of the matching process, you can make a Program Designation, i.e. what you prefer your matching dollars be spent on by the PTSA, which the PTSA will of course honor. Alternatively, if you want to let the PTSA board decide what has the greatest need and let them steer the matching dollars, you may designate "unrestricted", or "use where the need is greatest".

Please note that Microsoft matches time only once every quarter, so it may take a few months for the organization to receive the money from Microsoft.
